Child Birth Preparation

These classes are primarily directed toward first-time parents, although all expectant parents are welcome. If you want more than a one-evening refresher it is strongly recommended that you be in this class around seven months of pregnancy so the class is completed before your due date.

The emphasis of this class is basic anatomy and physiology of birth, relaxation, breathing techniques, and comfort measures for birth, breastfeeding, car seat safety and newborn care. Also discussed are pain medications, cesarean birth and hospital procedures.

Dress comfortably. Please bring a mat or blanket and pillows for you comfort. Classes meet once a week for six weeks on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:15 p.m. OR Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m.

June Clases begin- Sunday June 24

October classes begin- Sunday 21 or Thursday Oct 25               

Early Pregnancy Orientation

This is one-evening orientation that covers basic anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, plus prenatal yoga exercise that can make your pregnancy more comfortable.
Community resources, nutrition information and library resources are discussed. Call for dates.
